Dave Bautista joins ‘Dune’ reboot
Dave Bautista - who is best known for his role as Drax in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ - previously worked with director Denis Villeneuve on ‘Blade Runner 2049’ and the two are teaming back up.
Last year it was revealed that a reboot of the 1984 science-fiction film ‘Dune’ was in the works with Villeneuve helming the project and today is was announced that Bautista has been cast in the movie as the villainous “Beast” Rabban - nephew of the film’s antagonist, Baron Harkonnen.
Timothée Chalamet and Rebecca Ferguson are also set to star in it.
In ‘Blade Runner 2049’, Bautista showcased his diverse acting ability with a more serious performance while his most notable roles involve some form of comedy so it will be interesting to see what he and Villeneuve cook up this time around.
No release date is scheduled yet for the film but expect it to drop sometime in 2020.
You can also catch Bautista in his beloved form of Drax when ‘Avengers: Endgame’ hits theaters April 26.
