Grab your weapon of choice Dexter fans, because Showtime just ordered a limited series revival of the infamous show. And yes, Michael C. Hall is set to return as the titular serial killer.
Showtime has ordered 10 episodes of the series, with former showrunner Clyde Phillips also set to return. While the plot is currently unknown, the co-president of entertainment for Showtime, Gary Levine, says that the revival will be something incredible. He stated, “‘Dexter’ is such a special series, both for its millions of fans and for Showtime, as this breakthrough show helped put our network on the map many years ago...We would only revisit this unique character if we could find a creative take that was truly worthy of the brilliant, original series. Well, I am happy to report that Clyde Phillips and Michael C. Hall have found it, and we can’t wait to shoot it and show it to the world!”
Dexter follows a serial killer who kills other serial killers while navigating complex relationships and his unique job as a blood spatter expert for the Miami Police Department. Will the limited series be a prequel? A sequel? Stardust will let you know as soon as more information becomes available.
