Eva Longoria’s upcoming and much anticipated project titled Flamin’ Hot has just cast its lead actors. The biopic about the inventor of the spicy snack will star Jesse Garcia and Annie Gonzalez.
Flamin’ Hot will tell the inspirational story of Richard Montañez, who worked as a janitor at Frito Lay and rose to become a top executive at PepsiCo after creating his tasty invention. Montañez noticed a gap in the market for spicy Frito Lay’s products, worked on a recipe based on his Mexican American heritage, and successfully pitched his idea to the CEO. Needless to say, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos has been a massive success.
Longoria hopes to tell Montañez’s story as authentically as possible. She said, “my biggest priority to make sure we are telling Richard Montañez’s story authentically. I am so happy to have two extremely talented and fellow Mexican Americans on board in these pivotal roles. Jesse and Annie have a deep understanding of our community and will be able to help tell this story of great importance for our culture.”
Flamin’ Hot is set to begin filming this summer in New Mexico.
