HBO Max is steadily becoming the one-stop-shop for movies and shows set in the DC Universe. While a Green Lantern show was rumored to be in development last year, HBO Max just confirmed that it has given out a series order.

Major plot points have also been revealed about the new show. The series will follow multiple Lanterns, including Guy Gardner, Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, and Earth’s first Green Lantern, Alan Scott. Similar to the comics, Scott will be portrayed as gay in the series. There will also be other fan favorite characters, like Kilowog and Sinestro.

The new series will be written and executive produced by Seth Grahame-Smith (The Lego Batman Movie, Dark Shadows) and Marc Guggenheim (Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Green Lantern). HBO Max has ordered 10 one-hour episodes of the new series so far.

The new-ish streaming service is also planning on adding a James Gunn The Suicide Squad series, which will star John Cena, as well as a new Gotham PD series.
