Movie fans plans to return to theaters have been slashed yet again. Candyman, written by Jordan Peele, and directed by Nia DaCosta, was slated to premiere on October 16, 2020, but now the film is now delayed until 2021. Universal and MGM have yet to set a new release date.
The remake of the 1992 horror film of the same name was to be the next highly-anticipated movie to premiere in theaters following Tenet, since the pandemic disrupted the film industry. This news comes just hours after Warner Bros. postponed Wonder Woman 1984 from October 2 to December 25.
Still slated to premiere in theaters before the end of the year is Disney and Marvel's Black Widow, which is currently set to open on November 6.
