Disney+ is the upcoming streaming service from Disney that will be launching later this year.
From Pixar to Star Wars to Marvel and more, Disney+ is going to be the place for Disney fans to get their fix — especially since they’ve ended contracts with other streaming giants, like Netflix, who have been licensing their releases for the last few years (that’s right, no more Marvel or Pixar on Netflix!).
Not only will the upcoming streaming platform include all the old Disney titles, but they will also be creating a ton of original content and it looks like they’ll be building off some of their most beloved titles for this.
Today they revealed ‘Monsters at Work’.
The series picks up 6 months after the events of 2001’s ‘Monsters, Inc.’ and follows an up-and-coming monster name Tylor Tuscmon (Ben Feldman) who hopes to move up the ranks from a mechanic at the Monsters, In. Facilities to catching children's laughs alongside his idols; Mike & Sulley.
One particular factor that should get people excited for this series is the return of the original cast.
It’s been confirmed that Billy Crystal (Mike) & John Goodman (Sulley) are reprising their roles as well as John Ratzenberger (Yeti), Jennifer Tilly (Celia) and Bob Peterson (Roz) with some exciting new additions including Henry Winkler, Lucas Neff, Alanna Ubach, Stephen Stanton and Aisha Tyler.
No release date has been set but the series will be dropping sometime in 2020.
Disney will be formally unveiling Disney+ this Thursday at an upcoming investor event in California.
