First, there was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics. Then, there was the beloved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated TV series. The animated series sparked a deep affection for the pizza loving turtles and made these sewer dwellers a household name with six movies that have made over $1.15 billion at the box office. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles even have an episode dedicated to them in the Netflix series The Toys that Made Us!

Now, Nickelodeon is partnering with Seth Rogen’s production company, Point Grey Pictures, to create a brand new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Unlike the latest 2014 and 2016 live-action films, the Nickelodeon-backed movie will be CG-animated, like Scoob! and Onward.

The new movie will be Nickelodeon’s first CG-animated film designed for a theatrical release. So far, Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver will produce. Plus, Jeff Rowe (Gravity Falls) will direct and Brendan O’Brien (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising) will write the screenplay.

Are you excited to see the comedic elements Seth Rogan will lend to the new CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film? Let us know in the comments!
