The much anticipated Star Wars series, which will star Ewan McGregor reprising his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi, has just added another member to its ever-growing cast. PEN15 star and co-creator Maya Erskine will join the series in a currently unknown role and will be featured in at least three episodes.

Erskine will be joining current cast members Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Moses Ingram, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Benny Safdie,  Sung Kang, and Simone Kessell.

The series is currently in pre-production and is expected to begin filming soon. While the plot of the series is still under wraps, it is said that Obi-Wan Kenobi will take place ten years after Revenge of the Sith, and nine years before A New Hope.

And to keep fans’ high hopes for the new series, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy has alluded to the “rematch of the century.” Could Anakin and Obi-Wan face off again? Will Anakin have the high ground this time? Only time will tell!

A release date for Obi-Wan Kenobi has yet to be announced. Stay tuned to Stardust for updates.

What do you hope to see in the upcoming Obi-Wan series?
