Now that production on Season 2 of The Witcher has been underway for quite a few weeks, fans have been excited to get any tidbit they can about the highly anticipated upcoming season. While the wait to actually see the new installments will, of course, be longer than originally thought, that doesn't mean that we're going to be left with nothing to go on until the season debuts. Prepare to get excited, because Netflix just revealed Henry Cavill's new Geralt look for Season 2 of The Witcher!

And, no, the above photo does not mean that Geralt's new costume for Season 2 of The Witcher will just be a bathtub. I'm sorry to break all of your hearts with that news, but I do think you'll be quite pleased when you see just how Geralt will be suited up for his adventures in the new season, so let's start with a basically full-length look at Henry Cavill in costume for the Netflix hit. New armor?! Where did our boy get new armor? I know this isn't exactly like what a full-on knight would wear, but this is still a good change from what he wore the first time around. With all the fighting of deadly beasties that Geralt did in Season 1 (across several decades, I might add), I suppose it's possible that he now thinks that he needs the extra protection of some new battle gear on his upper half. I mean, he did deal with a lot of crazy shit in the first season. What the hell could possibly be happening in Season 2 to bring on this change?

The Season 1 finale of The Witcher saw Geralt finally catch up with his new Law of Surprise ward, Ciri, after her kingdom was destroyed and she found herself on the run and unable to truly control her powers. Now that they're together, though, you might wonder what will happen, especially with Yenn out of the picture right now. Well, we have our answer to that as well, with an official description for Season 2. Observe:

"Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside."

Ooooh. For those who aren't up on their Witcher lore, Kaer Morhen isn't just some random city where Geralt grew up. Instead, it's the mountain stronghold where the Witchers of the School of the Wolf trained. And, with people still after Ciri, it's best that she and Geralt find the safest place possible to stay for a while, especially as they try to figure out what kind of power she has and how to help her use it.

Season 2 will also see new characters arrive on the scene, including some other Witchers, such as Geralt's surrogate father and mentor, Vesemir, and the newly recast Eskel, and with Ciri being in the perfect place to learn all their Witcher fighting ways, it seems like that's exactly what they'll all be teaching her while holed up at the keep. Considering how strong, but uncontrolled, Ciri's powers are, this might be one of the reasons Geralt needs new fight gear.
