Remember, remember the 20th of December—fantasy, Star Wars, and plot. It seems like everything is premiering on December 20th. We have the much anticipated Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, as well as the anxiety-inducing Cats. Disney+ is also releasing Togo, which will probably make me cry (watch the trailer and you will know why). Shining through all of these hopefully good films is the new Netflix series The Witcher with Henry Cavill starring as the fierce monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia.

It is no surprise that former Man of Steel star loves playing Geralt. I mean, he gets to wield a sword everyday and battle in epic fight scenes. What more could someone ask for? Cavill also made a decision to do all of the fight scenes himself because he wants everything to be seamless. Instead of talking, talking, talking, FIGHT!, talking, talking, it will all flow together and be more true to his character.

Cavill actually plays The Witcher gaming series and has read the books that the show is based on to prepare for the role. Although he didn’t have much training for the sword fight scenes, he is considered a natural on set. We will have to be the judge of that in a few weeks.

If you are looking for a new fantasy show to fill the gaping wound Game of Thrones left in your heart, The Witcher might be the perfect rebound.

Are you excited to see The Witcher? What are you planning to watch on December 20th: The Witcher, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Cats, or Togo?
